About Us

Northpole is run out of Ottawa, Canada by three friends, Tom, Robbie, and Gavin. The story began in 2022 when Robbie and Gavin were becoming frustrated with the lack of product availability in the area. Specifically availability of mallet heads, and so the concept of the Howitzer head was born. Tom started playing polo with the Ottawa club in 2023 and soon felt the same frustration. He decided to throw his hat in the ring offering some engineering experience to the endeavour. A few months and prototypes later, Northpole was born.

Our mission is simple. Deliver top-quality bike polo gear at an affordable price to players at every level, from beginners to grizzled vets. Whether it’s rookie night or NAs, we want to ensure bike polo equipment is accessible to everyone who wants to join in on the action and intensity of the game.

We now offer a suite of products including the Howitzer head, Northpole, and a connect to join them. We test every variant of every product ourselves exhaustively before releasing it into the wild, and are constantly prototyping new versions of our gear. Our team combines a love for the game with years of experience, ensuring that each piece of equipment reflects quality and a deep understanding of what players need on the court.
